I have 6 years experience tutoring and teaching urban youth in Pittsburgh, PA, Arlington, VA, and Passaic, NJ. I have always enjoyed tutoring, especially in urban areas where students tend to be underserved. I'm consistently impressed by the intelligence and work ethic of my students, and I consider myself fortunate to be a part of their education. I believe education is a team effort, and so I maintain contact with parents or caregivers. I use many online resources aiming to make learning sustainable, enjoyable, and rewarding. I believe that perseverance is the most important predictor of success in education. I relate math to real world applications, so that students gain understanding of it's value. As students progress and advance their ambitions, I will give them brainteasers to strengthen their creative thinking and problem solving skills.
